Bluecoats Announce HBCU Scholarship

The Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps, Inc. seeks donors to support a scholarship in an effort to reach out to young adults from historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). The scholarship will apply to the 2015 season and will cover all or part of the corps’ fees, which include instruction, equipment, housing, meals and transportation.

Ricardo Brown, Bluecoats brass instructor and a former drum corps performer, paved the way for this scholarship opportunity. Brown, who attended Norfolk State and currently serves as Assistant Director of Bands at Prairie View A&M, cites the life-long value of the experiences he had while participating in the drum corps activity.
