Long Island Sunrisers Announce $60 for 60 Campaign
In celebration of our 60th anniversary, the Long Island Sunrisers announce the launch of $60 for 60. $60 for 60 is the first of many steps the corps is taking to revitalize itself into to position for future growth. This is the first campaign of this type that the Sunrisers have undertaken in several years.
“The Sunrisers have such a long and successful history; we want to ensure the continued growth and longevity of the this organization for many years to come, ” Assistant Director/Business Manager David Hobart states. The contributions may be structured in a way that donors can either pay in one lump sum or in installments. “We are asking for a donation of $60.00 for the season, however any amount is greatly appreciated,” Hobart continued. “People should not feel limited on how much they can donate”.
Funds raised from $60 for 60 will benefit the Corps in a wide variety of ways, including transportation, member housing, instrument upkeep, uniforms, and tuition assistance.
The Campaign will offset the cost of the Corps 2014 competitive season. The 2014 program includes works very close tied to the history of the corps, featuring music by Shostakovich, Stravinsky and Rimsky-Korsakov. The corps has an ambitious season planned and there is a great level of excitement within the current membership.
