star_united_100x100Star United will be performing Rimsky-Korsakov’s symphonic poem Scheherazade for its 2014 competition program.

The Indianapolis-based corps will seek to regain its Drum Corps Associates (DCA) Mini-Corps championship title with a performance of the masterwork as arranged by Key Poulan. “I am thrilled to be involved with Star United!”, said Poulan. “I’ve seen every mini corps performance since their first title in 2006 and have always been blown away with their precision, musicality, and most of all… emotion! The members have always been of standard-setting quality both on and off the field and stage. I am looking very forward to this year’s production!”

“It has always been a dream of mine to perform this material”, said director Sean Conley. “I can’t think of a piece better suited for our return to the stage in Rochester and I’m extremely excited to partner with Key Poulan to bring it to life.”

The Star United Mini Corps will compete with other talented performance ensembles from across North America as part of the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) Individual & Ensemble (I&E) Competition to take place in Rochester, NY over Labor Day Weekend 2014. Learn more about DCA (here).
