In The News: Book Explores Horlick Field’s Iconic Status
Racine’s Horlick Athletic Field has been home to sporting events for teams ranging from today’s Racine Raiders semi-pro football players to the Racine Belles of the 1940s All-American Girls Professional Baseball League — and even a few NFL teams.
Local high schools also hold football games in the field’s 7,500-seat stadium, and the baseball diamonds in the nine-acre park along North Memorial Drive have hosted the Old Timer’s Athletic Club Softball Tournament for more than three decades, according to www.realracine.com.
