Grammy Foundation Recognizes Pacific Crest Alumnus

PC alumnus Joel Carlson (2000 – 2001) is the Director of Bands at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, Calif. The school’s music department was awarded the 2014 GRAMMY Foundation’s Signature Schools Gold Award this past March.

Mira Costa was selected as one of the top three U.S. public school music programs in the country and will be awarded a $5,000 monetary grant to benefit the music program. The GRAMMY Foundation’s Signature Schools program recognizes top U.S. public high schools that are making an outstanding commitment to music education during an academic school year.
