Legends Announces 2014 Program

legends_100x100Inspired by the novel “The Pillars of the Earth” by Ken Follett, “La Cathédrale” explores spirituality and community through the story of a cathedral—and the people who worship in it. With the music of Claude Debussy providing the backdrop, the first movement begins with the early church struggling for a foothold in the pagan society of ancient Rome. In movement two, David Gillingham provides the soundtrack as believers begin to build the cathedral. Eric Whitacre’s music helps the congregation exalt in movement three, before the glorious finale—underscored by John Rutter—as the Cathedral becomes a centerpiece for the entire community.
