Adam Sage Joins Boston Crusaders Design Team

BostonCrusaders_100x100The Boston Crusaders are pleased to announce that Adam Sage will be joining the organization as the new Visual Coordinator. “I am excited to work with the Boston Crusaders rich history as we move into the 75th year of competition. It is an honor to work collaboratively with this organization built on tradition, dedication, and passion,” Sage states. “ I am thrilled to join the team in this role and work along side such incredible teachers, designers, and members.”

An active designer, choreographer and adjudicator in the pageantry arts, Sage has worked with numerous programs through the country including Tarpon Springs High School, East Lake High School, Seminole High School (1993 WGI A class Bronze medalists), Clearwater High School, Kell High School (2005 WGI A class Silver medalist), Pope High School (2000 WGI Open class Silver medalist and 2002 WGI World class Bronze medalist) and Spanish River High School Winter Guard (2009 Winter Guard International Scholastic A Silver medalists).

Currently, Sage is the director and designer for the Kennesaw Mountain High School Color Guard in Kennesaw, Georgia (2004 Winter Guard International Scholastic A World Champions, 2005 Winter Guard International Scholastic Open World Champions, 2006 Winter Guard International Scholastic World Class finalists, and the 2013 Winter Guard International Scholastic Open Bronze Medalists). Adam Sage is a visual coordinator and designer for Keller Central in Fort Worth, Texas, as well as the designer for the East Coweta High School Winter Guard in Sharpsburg, Georgia.

No stranger to the drum corps activity, Adam has extensive experience that includes being a member of the Suncoast Sound (1988 and 1989) and The Cadets of Bergen County (1990 and 1991). He went on to begin his teaching career as the caption head for the Magic of Orlando (1992 and 1993) and Crossmen (1994 and 1995). Adam then spent 1996 through 2002 working with the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps as a designer and technician. Sage was also the caption head and designer for the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2003 and 2004. 2005 through 2008, he spent with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps as their caption head and visual designer. Adam was the caption supervisor and designer with the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps (2009-2011). Most recently, Adam Sage held the position as color guard caption head with the Madison Scouts (2012-2014). Sage also works as a visual consultant and choreographer for the Brazilian Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps in San Paulo, Brazil.

Boston Crusaders Corps Director Andy Waldukat states, “I am absolutely thrilled for Adam Sage to be joining the Boston Crusaders Design Team. Adam brings to Boston a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and experience in all aspects of this activity. We are excited to have him guide the visual design for the 75th Edition of the Boston Crusaders.”

Sage is actively involved with Bands of America (BOA) and Winter Guard International (WGI) where he serves as an adjudicator. Sage’s WGI experience includes being a member of the Emerald Marquis Winter Guard (1990 to 1991) and the director of The Company Colour Guard from 1995 to 1999. The Company was a two time WGI World Champion in the A (1995) class and Open (1996) class. He was also the director of the Phantom Regiment Winter Guard in 2007 and 2008 and CrownGUARD in 2009 and 2010. Sage current independent projects include designing for The Pride of the Netherlands Winter Guard in Amsterdam.

When Sage is not teaching in the pageantry arts, Adam is a third grade teacher in Kennesaw, Georgia where he resides.
