mandarins_100x100The Sacramento Mandarins entire caption head staff will be returning for the 2015 season, demonstrating the corps’ well-known value of family. “I am pleased to welcome back all of our caption heads. Organizational continuity in drum corps is rare these days. We are fortunate to have a special team of highly talented and dedicated educators who will once again lead our corps in performance excellence”, stated Jim Tabuchi, Mandarins Corps Director.

Leading percussion this year will be a combination of efforts from Sean Womack, Robert Bowen, and Mark Hunter. Womack is the co-founder of DoubleStop Percussion – an Alabama-based education company providing percussion instruction for schools throughout the Southeast. He was a staff member of Spirit of Atlanta and Phantom Regiment, and is currently the Percussion Caption Head/Front Ensemble Arranger for the Mandarins. Robert Bowen is Co-Caption Head/Percussion Design Consultant and has worked as a percussion designer and instructor since 1998. He has worked with over 30 percussion programs at High School, Independent, and Drum Corps level, and is an adjudicator for indoor drum line circuits across the country. Co-Caption Head/Battery Arranger Mark Hunter is a graduate of The University of Kentucky and holds a bachelor’s degree in Percussion Performance. In 2004, he toured Japan with the Tony/ Emmy Award winning show Blast! as the marimba soloist, and has worked with The Colts, Spirit of Atlanta, Phantom Regiment, and many groups in the southeast.
