In 2013, when we were in Clovis, California, another tuba player and I were unloading tubas from under the bus. Some young fans came up to us with programs and pens in hand asking if we would sign their programs. That stands out to me because it shows me how big of an impact we are having on young musicians. They look up to us as if we were famous musicians. when in reality. I’m just a normal everyday tuba player from a small town in South Carolina.
