The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is around the corner and a few of Lexington’s own will be marching in a coveted spot.

The Madison Scouts, an drum and bugle corp based in Wisconsin, will be marching in the parade.

Shaun Owens, the band director at Bryan Station High School, will join the Scouts in the Big Apple. Owens is excited, to say the least.

“It is a dream come true for me. I’ve always wanted to be able to take a group to Macy’s and Macy’s is sort of the pinnacle for the marching activity for a high school band. I never thought I’d be able to march in it and again with my brothers in the Madison Scouts,” says Owens.
