Ron Hardin Talks Marching

carolina_crown_100x100Crown Visual Caption Supervisor, Ron Hardin, has always been a team first leader. The opportunity for him to join Crown in 2012 was unique in that he could bring his team with him and work together again with people who were not only great friends, but also people he had personally marched with in drum corps.

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Ron started in music playing the trumpet, eventually switching to trombone. In 1989, he began to pursue a music performance degree at Arizona State University and started his drum corps experience with the Velvet Knights of Anaheim, CA. In 1991 he decided to work toward becoming a music educator and looked to march again with a corps taught by an education focused staff. He found it at Star of Indiana, where drum corps greats such as Donnie VanDoren, Thom Hannum and Todd Ryan were teaching.
