“Scouts Honor” Documentary Pursues Crowd-Driven Distribution

“Scouts Honor: Inside a Marching Brotherhood”, a documentary by Madison Scouts alumni Mac Smith and Tom Tollefsen, is coming to a theater near you—if you request it.

The documentary will be distributed in 2015 using a new, crowd-driven method. Individuals may request a screening in their area through the film’s website, courtesy of Gathr Films. It is then up to the individual to promote the ticket sales of the requested screening. Gathr determines how many tickets need to be pre-sold for each screening to happen. If the tipping point is not reached by a determined time, the screening will not take place.
