Rhapsody Winter Corps Completes Inaugural Season

| |

Rhapsody Winter Corps (“Rhapsody”) was pleased to complete their inaugural season at the Arts in Motion Show on February 14, 2015 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Rhapsody performed in the Alberta area for their first season with hopes of travelling to the Winter Guard International Finals next year to compete in the Winds Category.

Rhapsody was comprised of 19 performing members this season and plans to keep the number similar for coming seasons. The ensemble break down was 6 trumpets, 4 mellophones, 4 baritones, 2 tubas and 3 auxiliary accompaniment members.

Rhapsody’s 2015 production was entitled “The City that Never Sleeps” and was an outsider’s experience of the great New York City. The production merged audio and visual elements to portray the hustle & bustle of the streets, serenity of the harbor, the showmanship of Broadway, and the awesomeness of the skyline.

A video of the final performance can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ar47JhNqyhw

Rhapsody is already in the design stages for next year’s season and planning for a trip into the USA to compete
against other Wind Category ensembles.
