SCV 2015: Week Three

Where has the time gone? We are three weeks into spring training and the Corps is pushing harder than ever to tackle challenging new drill and meticulously detail each musical phrase of the show. Thanks to everyone’s dedication and hard work, our 2015 program, “The Spark of Invention” is taking shape quite nicely.

Because Weed, CA sits at 3,425 feet above sea level, the sun is much more intense than many of the members are used to back at home. Although temperatures may only reach the mid 80s, the sun is still beating down in full force. Hats, sunscreen and lots of water are key to creating a safe and successful rehearsal environment. Luckily, members were also able to beat the heat with a round of laundry blocks early in the week. A few short morning trips to Yreka, CA provided each section with a nice change of pace – and clean clothes!
