Cavaliers Begin Search For Executive Director

Cavaliers_100x100The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps, Inc have begun the search for a full-time Executive Director to lead the organization as it expands its range of programs and products.

This will be a new position for the $1.5 milllion dollar organization, which has been managed for most of its 67 years by an all-volunteer leadership team. The Executive Director will have responsibility for working with the directors and managers of the various Cavaliers perfoming ensembles and programs in expanding and improving their impact, and with The Cavaliers Board of Directors and management team in expanding the overall scope of the organization, with new Chicago-area initiatives to offer more opportunities to learn and perform for Chicago-area young people.

Founded by scoutmaster Donald W. Warren in 1948, The Cavaliers are the holders of 21 national and world championships in drum and bugle corps. They are a founder of Drum Corps International, and are one of the most internationally recognized brands in youth performing arts, with Cavaliers members coming from Asia and Europe, as well as a wide range of areas in the United States. Besides the drum corps, The Cavaliers also have an indoor percussion program (Cavaliers Indoors Percussion) and the GearWORKS camps and clinics for high school and college-age performers, and the Cavaliers Promotions lines of apparel, media, and hard goods.
