In The News – Rustin Grad Will Perform With South Jersey Drum Corps

Matt Malone, 18, of West Chester will be forgoing much of the laziness that comes with summer vacation, to perform with South Jersey’s Jersey Surf drum corps in a cross-country tour.

Malone graduated this year from Bayard Rustin High School, and had been a member and leader of the school’s band all four years. Malone joined Jersey Surf two years ago, where he now plays trumpet, and was immediately interested in the group, as he said, “I heard that if something both excites you and terrifies you then you have to do it, and drum corps checks both those boxes.”
