In The News – Elite Drum And Bugle Corps Echoes Marion’s Past

Drums rattled, trumpets blared and banners flew into the sky at as The Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps rehearsed Monday at Harding High School.

The elite 150-member marching band, originally formed in 1937 in Madison, Wisconsin, is made up of young men ages 14 to 21 who are mostly music or music education majors. Another 58 coaches and volunteers accompany the team, along with sound equipment, brass instruments and a dizzying array of drums, cymbals, marimbas and gongs.
