Brass Arranger/ Program Coordinator

Trumpet recording artist Joey Pero began his playing career in drum corps and has since performed for audiences in 43 states and 7 countries. During his drum corps career, Joey has performed with Genesee Quest (Division 3) 1990-1995 & The Empire Statesmen as a soloist 2001-2013 (Champion 2004). While performing in DCA, Joey was the recipient of the DCA Best Showmanship (2001), Best Soloist (2002 & 2004), and DCA Soprano I&E Champion (2000, 2001, 2002). Joey’s DCA experience did not stop with just performing; he has been on staff with the Ghost Riders Mini Corps as a brass arranger/caption head 2000-2006 (Champion 2000), Empire Statesmen’s brass staff 2001-2013 (Champion 2004), San Francisco Renegades’ arranger, brass staff, and consultant 2004, 2005, 2010-2012, and Skyliners’ brass arranger 2015, 2016. Joey is also the co-founder of the “Hit Men” Brass Ensemble (2003) and the co-founder, arranger, creative director of “The Edge” Performing Ensemble (2011). An alumnus of the Julliard School of Music and The New England Conservatory, Joey has had the opportunity to perform with jazz legend, Maynard Ferguson (2005). He was a featured performer at the 2009 Presidential Inauguration and released his highly praised debut record “Resonance”, that same year. A resident of Las Vegas, Nevada, Joey performs frequently with “Jersey Boys” and at “The Composers Showcase of Las Vegas”. Joey serves on the advisory board for the Liberace Foundation and is currently making his acting debut as “Nick Radel” in the new, highly anticipated musical “The Bandstand”, directed by Tony Award winner, Andy Blankenbuehler
