Spirit Of Atlanta Names 2016 Brass Team

spirit_of_atlanta_100x100Director Chris Moore is proud to announce the lineup of talented educators who will be overseeing the brass program for Spirit of Atlanta’s 40th Anniversary season.

Freddy Martin is the founding director of the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps.He held the position of executive director of the corps for fourteen years and is now Director Emeritus of the corps.Freddy is a member of the DCI Hall of Fame and was most recently the brass caption coordinator for the world-champion Phantom Regiment.Freddy has delivered clinics and seminars all over the country and in England. He is a Bands of America judge and a clinician for some of the finest high school marching and symphonic bands in the country. Freddy has given clinics in Georgia at the MusicEducators Convention, in Chicago at the Midwest Clinic, and for Spirit of Atlanta camps for the last 34 years.Freddy is currently band director at the prestigious Westminster Schools in Atlanta. Freddy’s son Chris is principal Trumpet in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra while his younger son Michael is a member of the Trumpet Section of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.Teaching has been Freddy’s life, and he loves to share the knowledge he has gained over these 47 years of educating young people.
