Madison Scouts Welcome New Board Members

madison_scouts_100x100The Madison Drum & Bugle Corps Association (MDBCA) is proud to announce the appointment of three new members to its board of directors, including:

Michael Garvin – an alumnus of the Scouts, Mike is currently the President and Chief Operating Officer of USA Jet Airlines, an air freight charter company based in Belleville, MI. His career has been focused in various operational and executive roles in the aerospace and airline industry. In addition, he served 22 years in the Wisconsin Air National Guard, retiring in 2014 as a LtCol and Chief of Intelligence of the 115th Fighter Wing based in Madison, WI. Mike holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh. He currently resides in Farmington Hills, MI.

Michael Robinson –an alumnus of the Scouts, Mike is currently the Director of Athletic Bands and an Associate Professor of Music at the University of Georgia. His career has been focused in music education at both the high school and collegiate level. A highly published music educator, Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education (1987), a master’s degree in Music Education (1996), and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting (1998), all from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.

Alex Saloutos – an alumnus of the Scouts, Alex is currently a realtor for First Weber Group based in Madison, WI. Spending the better part of his career in the homebuilding and realty sector, Alex has been involved with strategy, marketing, brand development, and sales for Wisconsin’s largest homebuilding and real estate brokerage firms. Alex is also a trustee and volunteer for the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and is actively involved in a number of Madison nonprofits including the Madison Community Foundation, Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Dane County, and the Mendota Rowing Club.

In addition, the MDBCA re-appointed active board members Michael Ivan Burke, Tim Landess, and Tom Moffatt to 1-year terms.
