Upcoming Govenaires Rehearsals On Jan. 16 And 17

| |

govenaires_100x100The Govenaires Drum and Bugle Corps ended its 2015 season on a high note, winning the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) Class A championship in September. The St. Peter-based group hopes to build on that success with upcoming rehearsals on January 16 and 17.

The weekend rehearsals will take place in St. Peter, Minnesota, starting with a 9:00 a.m. registration on Saturday at St. Peter High School. There are open spots in the brass section (mainly trumpet and baritone), front ensemble percussion, and color guard.

If you can’t make it to the January rehearsals, the next rehearsal weekend is February 13 and 14 at St. Peter High School.

The Govenaires are an all-age marching music ensemble that performs in parades and field shows during the summer. We offer flexible scheduling, inexpensive dues, and a fun atmosphere.

If you are interested in coming to a rehearsal, you can register at www.govenaires.org by clicking “Join Us.” Our membership is comprised of people from many different backgrounds and skill levels.

Earlier in December, the Govenaires successfully kicked off the 2016 season with their Open House rehearsal weekend. Monthly rehearsals will continue throughout the winter season.

As part of the DCA circuit, the Govenaires are eleven-time finalists and four-time champions in Class A (2006, 2009, 2011, and 2015). Besides competitive success, the corps takes pride in its unique brand of performance. Entertaining audiences has always been paramount to the Govenaires.

The season leads up to the DCA Championships, which take place Labor Day weekend in Rochester, New York.
