Govenaires To Perform At 2016 Shanghai Tourism Festival

The Govenaires Drum and Bugle Corps is proud to announce our invitation to the 2016 Shanghai Tourism Festival this coming September!

This once-in-a-lifetime trip starts on Wednesday, September 7, and will feature various sight-seeing opportunities and performances. The main event will be the gigantic night parade on Saturday, September 10. The corps will return home on Wednesday, September 14.

Event organizers in Shanghai will cover all housing, in-China travel, and some meals. Costs for travel visas, plane tickets, and additional items are being worked on. The goal is to cover as much as possible through grants and fundraising.

The Govenaires are an all-age marching music ensemble that performs in parades and field shows during the summer. We offer flexible scheduling, inexpensive dues, and a fun atmosphere.

As part of the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) circuit, the Govenaires are eleven-time finalists and four-time champions in Class A (2006, 2009, 2011, and 2015). Besides competitive success, the corps takes pride in its unique brand of performance. Entertaining audiences has always been paramount to the Govenaires.
