2016 To Be Last One For The Bridgemen Alumni Corps

| |

bridgemen_100x100The Bridgemen Board of Directors recently announced that the coming 2016 season will be the last for the Alumni corps due to potential membership and practice facility issues that were presented to the corps. Director George Lavelle recommended that, instead of going away at a cold February practice, as so many great corps have done, the Bridgemen go out on top and on their own terms. The board unanimously agreed and the corps has set some special plans for their final year.

The corps’ Farewell Tour will include five field performances through the summer. Bridgemen will say goodbye to their alumni and hometown at the Tournament of Stars on July 23rd in Bayonne. The corps will then close the show at DCI EAST in Allentown on August 6 as they say goodbye to the East Coast. The final leg of the tour will see the Bridgemen perform at DCI-Semi finals in Indianapolis, as the corps goes out on marching music’s biggest stage and says goodbye to the world!

The program for the 2016 season includes Bridgemen classics: Pagliacci, Land of Make Believe, My Favorite Things, The William Tell Overture an encore of “In The Stone,” with Bridgemen humor and magic sprinkled throughout!

“While it is sad that the corps will be going away, we are very excited that we will be going out on top and doing it our way!” Turnouts for practices are at a all-time high, Bridgemen Director George Lavelle commented

The corps plans on putting out its BIGGEST corps ever and is looking for anyone who would like to be part of the Hype! If anyone is interested in joining the Bridgemen for their Farewell season, please email director George Lavelle at gmanbay41 [at] aol [dot] com for information on how to join. The corps will be having a practice weekend on Saturday February 13th from 12-6 & Sunday February 14th from 11-4 in Bayonne.

It was also announced by the Board of Directors, that the Bridgemen Organization will continue and become a Performing Arts type of organization. The organization already has a Mini Corps, a Indoor color guard and a Brass choir that the organization sponsors and look forward to be adding more.
