At first glance, it seems that Daniel Melby’s biggest passion doesn’t fit with any program in Concordia’s music department.

The euphonium player in The Concordia Band is also a section leader in his hometown drum and bugle corps, The Blue Stars. This summer he’ll tour for 60 days and do 35 performances in venues like major college and NFL stadiums across the country.

While the differences between drum corps marching and concert performances seem large, Melby’s love of playing quality music connects them.
