scout_house_100x100Preston Scout House Band, of Cambridge, Ontario, is covering a lot of ground with its 2016 summer performance schedule, hitting the road to Buckhannon, West Virginia for a Strawberry Festival parade and indoor evening concert on May 21 and winding up its tour schedule, as usual, with a Labour Day weekend performance in the Alumni Spectacular field show in Rochester, New York on Sunday, September 4.

The summer schedule features a dozen other performances in locations across southern Ontario and western New York, including parades in many of Ontario’s top-rated festivals, such as the Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival in Mississauga; Burlington’s massive Sound of Music Festival, the largest event of its kind in Canada; Welland’s Rose Festival; the July 1 Canada Day parade at home in Cambridge followed by the Band’s annual family barbecue and the Cactus Festival in Dundas.

Field shows include an alumni show in Hornell, New York on July 16, the 7th annual Scout House Invitational Tattoo in Waterloo on Saturday, August 20 and the Alumni Spectacular show in Rochester, one of many events during the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) championship weekend.

Scout House is also featured in several community-oriented events in July and August, including homecoming parades in Walkerton and Hespeler, one of the three former separate towns now making up the City of Cambridge, and the Kingsville, Ontario Folk Music Festival.

Commitments also include a number of local performances before and after the summer schedule. The same weekend, the Silver Leaves brass ensemble and Heritage Guard will each perform at the Great Alliance of Seniors reunion in Binghamton, New York.

Scout House will again honour veterans the weekend after Labour Day during the annual Warriors’ Day parade and concert at Royal Canadian Legion Preston Branch 126. The Band’s fall schedule also includes the Kitchener/Waterloo Oktoberfest parade and Christmas parades in Cambridge, Guelph and Weston.
