The Hero’s Journey is a universal tale found in every culture since the dawn of civilization. It is the adventure of The Hero, who goes out and achieves great deeds on behalf of the group, tribe, or civilization. These stories are often about moments that redefine us as individuals, and the struggle that can unfold when we unexpectedly find ourselves asked to become more than we imagined we might ever be.

The core of the Hero’s Journey is always about transformation. Our hero, like any person, company or institution, must shed the old and welcome the new in order to not just survive but to thrive. Those of us in pageantry understand well the transformative power of being part of a team.
