Martin To Be First Spirit Of Atlanta Hall Of Fame Inductee
The Hall of Fame Committee for Spirit of Atlanta is proud to announce our inaugural inductee into the Spirit of Atlanta Hall of Fame. On June 25, 2016, Spirit of Atlanta will proudly welcome Freddy Martin as the first member of our élite Hall.
In 1976, Freddy founded Spirit of Atlanta with the help of his wife Lynda, associate Bob Hoehn, and the support of local television station WXIA. He served as director of the corps until 1993 and in the years since has been involved in many ways including being named Director Emeritus. He returned to the corps in 2015 for our 40th Anniversary season to serve as Brass Coordinator. Martin has long been a leader in the DCI activity and was inducted into the DCI Hall of Fame in 2006.
