Palmer Joins 2017 Blue Stars Instructional Staff

blue_stars_100x100The Blue Stars are excited to announce the addition of Mr. Scott Palmer to the 2017 brass staff. Mr. Palmer will serve as an ensemble consultant throughout the Blue Stars’ 2017 spring training and summer tour.

Scott Palmer is a music educator currently teaching and residing in the Minneapolis, MN area. Palmer holds a B.M. in Music Education from Lawrence University Conservatory of Music and a M.M. in Wind Band Conducting from Sam Huston State University. Presently, Palmer is a band director at Eden Prairie High School, a position he has held since 2006. Under Palmer’s direction the Eden Prairie Eagle Marching band has been a BOA Regional and Super Regional Finalist and a consistent Minnesota Marching Band State finalist with a State Championship in 2015. The Eden Prairie Percussion Ensembles performed at the MN State Music convention in 2010, and at the National Percussion Festival in Indianapolis in 1997, 2010, 2014. The Eden Prairie Drumline was re-started by Palmer in 2011, and have been WGI Scholastic World Finalists in 2013, 2014. His ensembles consistently receive superior ratings at regional and state contests. In addition to his responsibilities at Eden Prairie, Scott Palmer is on brass staff with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps, the Brass Caption Head of Minnesota Brass All Age Drum Corps and a brass consultant for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps. He is an alumnus of the Madison Scouts and Minnesota Brass, Inc. Drum and Bugle Corps.
