In The News – Michigan City Marches To Its Own Beat As 2018 Pageant Of Dreams Drum And Bugle Competition Returns To Ames Field

Most often, the only time people get to see and hear a drum and bugle corps is at a football game or parade, but perhaps few are aware of the incredibly rich military history, going back centuries, to a time when fife and drum corps were used as military signalling instruments.

Modern drum and bugle corps perform not only at parades and football games, but also at competitions. This Sunday, Drum Corps International, Marching Music’s Major League™ brought the show once again to the shores of Lake Michigan, playing to a packed stadium at Ames Field in Michigan City. Participating corps this year included the Colt Cadets, Pioneer, Genesis, the Cavaliers, Blue Stars and more.
