In The News – YEA Fires Ex-priest Working With Allentown-Based Drum Corps

A former priest named in the grand jury report investigating child sex abuse in the Catholic Church who also worked with the Allentown-based Cadets drum corps has been fired, the organization’s chairman said.

Donald Cramer, who had been a priest in the Harrisburg Diocese until he voluntarily left the priesthood in 2014, was let go by Youth Education in the Arts, the parent organization of the Cadets, after the report went public Aug. 14. Cramer was a part-time instructor on the horn line for Cadets2, a weekends-only marching group, said YEA Chairman Doug Rutherford.
