In The News – Allentown Cadets Hit Hard Financially By Sexual Misconduct Scandal

The parent organization of the Allentown Cadets drum and bugle corps lost more than $1.5 million in sponsorships, donations and ticket sales in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations against ex-CEO George Hopkins.

Youth Education in the Arts said in court papers this week that it began suffering financially in April, which was when The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that nine women said Hopkins assaulted or harassed them. The information was in response to a lawsuit Hopkins filed alleging the organization owes him hundreds of thousands of dollars in back pay, and other claims.
