In The News – Two From Catawba County Part Of Prestigious Marine Drum & Bugle Corps

Lance Cpl. Froylan Barbosa, Conover native and Bunker Hill graduate, began his journey with “The Commandant’s Own” United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps playing baritone bugle in October.

Formed in 1934, The United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps is a prestigious marching unit based in Washington D.C. and is made up of 90 Marine musicians, specifically brass and percussion, who travel across the U.S. and internationally year-round and perform popular and martial music for thousands of people. It’s the only active duty drum and bugle corps in the United States Armed Forces.
