When Fruitland Grizzlies band member William McComb attended a one-day educational clinic in Nampa late last month, he happened upon a sudden opportunity which is now transforming his entire summer.

McComb, an incoming junior who has been avidly playing trumpet in Fruitland bands since the sixth grade, has joined the Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps for the world class group’s summer tour, which kicks off with a free Father’s Day performance for the public Sunday evening at the Fruitland High School football field.
