World Drum Corps Hall Of Fame Inductees Postponed Until 2021

| |

The executive committee of the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame has determined that there will be no induction class of 2020: the results of voting for candidates to be inducted this year will remain confidential until the spring of 2021. The banquet and induction ceremony normally held the weekend of the Drum Corps Associates (DCA) championship tournament has been cancelled, along with other drum corps activity.

The Hall of Fame executive committee considered a number of options for dealing with the situation created by the worldwide COVID 19 pandemic. Postponing the announcement and induction ceremony until 2021 will allow the newly elected members to enjoy the traditional banquet and induction ceremony experience.

Online voting was conducted as usual earlier this spring, but results will remain confidential until next year. There will be no vote in 2021. Winning candidates in this year’s vote will be notified individually next spring, with public announcements to follow as usual.

Nominations can be submitted at any time for consideration in the 2022 election campaign.

Regular World Drum Corps Hall of Fame members are honoured for their dedication, contributions and achievements over a long period of time in categories including administration, arranging, adjudication, instruction, innovation and design. Associate members have dedicated at least five consecutive years of service to any drum and bugle corps as a performer or in a support role. Special membership categories include inductees honoured for Distinguished Professional Achievement, International Achievement and individuals receiving the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

The World Drum Corps Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization honoring those individuals who have contributed significantly over many years to the development and continuing excellence of drum and bugle corps activity around the world. For more information, visit the website at wdchof.org
