In The News – Former Drum Corps Director Awaiting Trial In Sex Assault Case Sues For Severance

As he awaits trial on allegations of sexual assault during his tenure with Youth Education in the Arts, the organization’s former CEO is suing the board, claiming he’s owed more than $580,000 in severance pay and other expenses.

George Hopkins is suing YEA, claiming the organization has failed to pay his severance more than two years since his resignation. The lawsuit filed last week in Lehigh County Court by attorney Weisberg Cummings names as defendants YEA, current board members Doug Rutherford, Jane Lemmon, Ben Regalado and Larry Mills and former board member Vicki Ray, who served on the board in 2018.
