Eric Sabach Joins Blue Stars Management Team

The Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps is pleased to announce the hiring of Eric Sabach as the Director of Youth Programs. His responsibilities will include the continued growth of the organization through the coordination of its activities from a marketing and development perspective, along with managing the corps’ daily activities and providing the students, staff and volunteers with an environment suitable for success.

"I’m extremely excited to have Eric join the Blue Stars’ management team," said Executive Director Brad Furlano. "His experience in both the pageantry arts and business will provide much benefit to our organization, and help us continue the tremendous growth of the past 5 years."

Eric has over 35 years of experience in the movement arts. His drum corps performance career began as a euphonium player with the Royal Brigade of the Meadowlands, NJ and continued with the Garfield Cadets, where he was a member from 1981-1984 and a two-time DCI World Champion. From there he joined the Star of Indiana as a visual instructor and caption head, where as a student of George Zingali, he quickly became a visual designer and clinician of note throughout the United States developing many state and national championship programs. In the fall of 2003 he joined the Phantom Regiment as part of their visual staff and later became the Director of Business Development and Marketing for the organization.

He has been an adjudicator for DCI, DCA, BOA, ISSMA, IHSCGA, USSBA, Tri-State Judges Circuit, and Texas Color Guard Association.

A native of Englewood, New Jersey, Mr. Sabach attended West Chester University, PA as a music education major and later enjoyed a long and successful career as a key accounts manager for Jostens Inc. He developed programs for The United States Military Academy at West Point, Cornell University, NYU, Columbia University, Fashion Institute of Technology and as a manager in their sports marketing division negotiating contracts for the Super Bowl, World Series and Stanley Cup championship rings and creating programs for the NFL and Bands of America. He has worked with many of the Fortune 1000 companies in the Greater New York area developing recognition and award programs aimed at helping companies retain their employees, reward achievement and also help them recruit the best and brightest talent available.

He has been recognized by Who’s Who of American High School Students, a top ranked AAU athlete, Louis Armstrong award winner, winner of the Twin Cities Marketing Award for creative marketing programs, and has won Columbia Scholastic Press awards and Printing Industry of America Awards for design excellence. Throughout his career at Jostens, he was recognized in the upper percentile of all categories pertaining to success and growth.

I look forward to helping the members achieve drum corps goals many of them might never even expected, while instilling in them an enduring pride, acumen of personal responsibility and a deep commitment to service to community. I am honored to be entrusted by the Blue Star organization to share this passion with the members."

Eric’s hobbies include: Live music events of all genres, the fine arts, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, The New York Yankees, professional football and college basketball, his Golden Retriever Bailey Jo and travel.
