2011 Cavaliers February Camp Report

As many throughout the world made their final Valentine’s Day preparations, brass and percussion members assembled in Rosemont, Ill. the weekend of February 11-13, as The Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps held its first non-audition camp of 2011. The three-day camp weekend started with an especially productive Friday night rehearsal, an expectation set by the entire staff.

“Members don’t get better at camp; they get better BEFORE camp,” said Brass Caption Head Scott-Lee Atchison. The successful winter program is built on consistent improvement between the monthly gatherings in Rosemont, Ill. “This hard work, diligent and fastidious preparation and pride will ensure members have the best experience once the summer begins,” added Atchison. On top of continuing to develop The Cavaliers’ brass technique, the horn line learned three movements of the 2011 production.
