Colt Cadets Announce 2011 Program

The Colt Cadets will follow up the most competitively-successful season in their history with a program titled, NOTORIOUS.

“We’re excited to build on the momentum that the drum corps has gained over the past few seasons,” said Program Coordinator Jeff MacFarlane. “The growth of our students has allowed us to explore more mature concepts, as well as introduce them to some wonderful music in the process.”

The 2011 program features literature from some of the most noted composers of the 20th century including soundtrack pieces from Bronislau Kaper, Franz Waxman, and Nino Rota; as well as classical selections by Aaron Copland and Dmitri Shostakovich. “The corps has met every challenge we’ve put to them at this point,” said Colt Cadets Director Vicki Schaffer, “so the design team continues to push beyond boundaries that we never thought possible. This will, no doubt, be the most ambitious program we’ve presented in my tenure as director.”

The Colt Cadets debut their 2011 program along with the Colts at their Summer Premier on June 25th at the Loras College Rock Bowl in Dubuque. The competitive season begins on June 26th in Lisle, IL, and concludes at the Drum Corps International World Championships in Indianapolis in early August.
