Carolina Crown Influence At BOA Nationals

carolina_crown_100x100Bands of America Grand Nationals concluded on Saturday in Indianapolis, Indiana, with Oklahoma’s Broken Arrow High School edging out Indiana’s Avon for the top spot. Several bands competing in Indianapolis over the weekend were taught by educators with ties to Carolina Crown, including programs finishing in the top five.

Broken Arrow High School took home the grand championship title for the third time, performing their show entitled “Wild Blue Orchid”. Crown Drill Designer, Leon May, wrote the drill for Broken Arrow, who also took top honors in General Effect and tied Avon High School for outstanding visual performance. The Broken Arrow percussion section was led by longtime Crown staff member, Zach Schlicher.
