Reading Buccaneers To Host 13th Annual Spring Preview Concert
The Reading Buccaneers Drum & Bugle Corps, in partnership with the Twin Valley High School Band program, will host the 13th Annual Spring Preview, a Drum & Bugle Corps Concert, on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. The concert will take place in the Twin Valley High School auditorium, 4897 S. Twin Valley Road, Elverson, PA 19520.
The Spring Preview has become a much-anticipated mainstay of the indoor drum and bugle corps concert calendar and features some of the world’s best all-age competing and alumni corps in exhibition.
The concert will be the public’s first opportunity to hear the hometown Reading Buccaneers, celebrating its 60th anniversary, as the corps unveils its 2017 music program: Behind the Suit. The corps’ repertoire includes music by Hans Zimmer, Michael Daugherty, Samuel Barber, Richard Strauss, and original music by Buccaneers designers Mark Lortz, Johnny Trujillo and Mike Lalli..
This year’s event will add an extra layer of excitement as the Buccaneers will welcome the defending Drum Corps Associates champions, Cadets2, to the concert. The Preview will be the first public performances for both of DCA’s 2016 top two finishers. In addition to the Buccaneers and Cadets2, fans will be treated to performances by the Skyliners Drum & Bugle Corps, the Skyliners Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps, the Buccaneer Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps and The American Originals Fife & Drum Corps, whose colonial flair and rudimental precision are sure to add a unique dimension. As always, a full turkey dinner will be offered at the school prior to the concert, allowing drum corps performers and fans, young and old, to enjoy some terrific social time.
In addition to the concert, the day presents a unique opportunity for drum corps aficionados to meet members from multiple corps and reconnect with old friends and many activity luminaries.
Reserved seats in the center section are $17 apiece, and general admission seats in the side areas are $15 apiece, and will be sold at the door.
