Meet 2017 Battalion’s Percussion Student Leadership

The Battalion’s 2017 percussion student leadership team was selected at the corps’ May camp, and we couldn’t be more excited to introduce you to them. Get to know a little bit more about them below!

Matt Hauser (Front Ensemble Section Leader)

Matt Hauser, from Littleton, CO, is a rising junior at Colorado State University (Fort Collins, CO) majoring in Percussion Performance. Matt’s experience includes serving as percussion captain for three years at Dakota Ridge High School, playing marimba with the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble for two seasons, and most recently as a member of WGI PIO Silver Medalist Rise Percussion. Additionally, he has performed with Colorado State’s Marching Band, Presidential Pep Band, Basketball Pep Band, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble, and Jazz Combos. Matt has previously been a front ensemble/battery tech at Dakota Ridge and Chatfield High Schools (Littleton, CO). Currently, he is a front ensemble tech at the Northern Colorado Academy of Marching Percussion (Loveland, CO) as well as the front ensemble caption head at Windsor High School (Windsor, CO). He has developed skills in a variety of percussion instruments, specializing in drum set and marimba. This will be Matt’s first season marching in Drum Corps International.
