In The News – A Recipe For Success

On a recent trip back to my house in Iowa I was motivated — not sure by what — to clean out some files in my desk. In doing so I stumbled upon a collection of business sections from the time I was business editor of the Burlington, Iowa, newspaper.

Part of that section each Sunday included a personal column. My bosses wanted readers to know the journalists putting out the paper each day are actually real people, not sinister muckrakers frothing at the mouth to pounce on someone or denounce something in their community.
