Magic Of Scout House Wins 5th Consecutive Title

Magic of Scout House winter guard won its fifth consecutive North East Color Guard Circuit (NECG) Senior category title with a performance dedicated to Bridget Sinden, who passed away suddenly at age 50 just three days before the championship contest in Rochester, New York on Saturday March 30. She had been involved in colour guard activity for many years, most recently performing with Magic of Scout House and serving as a member of the instructional staff.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home in Kitchener. For a memorial statement visit http://www.henrywalser.com/. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Magic director Jehn Burkowski made pink ribbons for everyone to wear on the weekend, an idea suggested by Legacy 2.0 designer Leigh Hadjis. Members of Magic and close rival Legacy 2.0 held hands as they walked out together for retreat ceremonies.

Magic of Scout House scored 78.240 to win the NECG Senior category title, with Legacy 2.0 second at 76.160 and SUNY Geneseo Sapphire third with 68.190. Magic has won every contest, including five championships, since first competing in January, 2015.

Magic’s contest theme for the 2019 season was a salute to Women Who Rock with a routine taking audiences on a journey through some of the most iconic music produced by women of rock and roll.
