Jacob rose to fame in 2012 as his incredible compositions and musical performances went viral on YouTube. In 2016 he released his self-recorded album In My Room which won two Grammys for the tracks Flintstones and You and I.

Since then, Jacob has been working on his massive, four-volume work Djesse. The album, which features the Metropole Orkest and more than two dozen artists or ensembles, has already won immense praise, including two Grammy awards. The latest volume, Djesse Vol. 3 was released just last August to much excitement.

“To a student of Bluecoats School of the Arts, who may be dreaming of what a life in the arts may look like, Jacob Collier is the perfect icon,” said Mike Scott, CEO of Bluecoats. “He’s an absolute musical and artistic genius, but what’s more, he’s figured out how to make a career in the arts from his own bedroom. Our Symposium II students are in for a real treat.”

Symposium I & II are scheduled for November 21-22 and December 5-6 online at bluecoats.school. In addition to Mr. Collier, dozens of world-class educators, composers, and performers from around the world are scheduled to teach.
