National Sibling Day 2024

As we honor the special bond between siblings on National Sibling’s Day, Spirit of Atlanta is proud to showcase some of the sibling duos who have graced the corps with their talent, dedication, and undeniable spirit!

Hailing from Oregon, Stephanie Gavin Hunt (Guard 1998-2001) and Rachel Gavin (Guard 1998-1999) would never have crossed paths with Spirit of Atlanta if not for their involvement in a youth marching program during the summer. Thanks to their guard instructor’s connection with a staff member at Spirit, they seized the opportunity to join the corps mid-season after the Northern Lights mini-tour ended. Their summers with Spirit remain among their most cherished shared memories, although sadly, Stephanie passed in the summer of 2019 due to brain cancer. Nonetheless, Stephanie’s legacy lives on through Rachel’s sharing their memories with her niece and nephew.
