Five-Decade Volunteer Becky Nelson: A Phantom Regiment Legend

Becky Nelson, one of the longest-serving volunteers in Phantom Regiment history, died Jan. 25, 2025. She was 66.

She first became involved as a Phantom Regiment volunteer in 1981 and continued for nearly 45 years, with most of those years as the leader of the corps’ incredible food program. She was a familiar face not only to decades of Phantom Regiment members and staff but also to other corps, as she was a constant for so many years “in the lot” at drum corps shows all over the country.
