Founders’ Day 2025 MYNWA

The Madison Scouts motto is “May You Never Walk Alone”, often abbreviated as “MYNWA”. The corps song is “You’ll Never Walk Alone” written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein for the broadway musical “Carousel” in 1945.

“You’ll Never Walk Alone” was first performed by the Madison Scouts in 1952 and has been a cherished part of our repertoire ever since. Both played and sung by the corps, the song reinforces the values of unity and mutual support that define the Madison Scouts. Adopted as the official corps song in the late 1950s, its current brass arrangement was crafted by DCI Hall of Famer and Scouts’ brass arranger Ray Baumgardt in the early 1970s and later transcribed by fellow DCI Hall of Famer and current Scouts’ brass arranger Scott Boerma in the early 2000s.
