In The News: Drum Corps’ Belongings Stolen

A drum corps competing in this week’s Drum Corps International World Championships had its spirit tested after returning home from an event and discovering thieves had rifled through their belongings, taking iPods, cell phones and other items, police said Thursday.

Members of the Pioneer drum corps of Milwaukee had gone out to compete and attend events at about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, leaving their personal belongings inside the gymnasium at Blair High School, where the members are staying during the three-day competition.

The gym was left unlocked after the corps members went out for the day.
