Harry Heidelmark Recovering

| |

Harry Heidelmark, long-time photographer for Drum Corps World (more than 25 years!), was hospitalized shortly after DCI Championships week in Pasadena. He has been driving one of Pioneer’s equipment trucks for the summer tour and became quite ill as the corps passed through Las Vegas, NV, on the way back to the Midwest.

He was in an induced coma for eight days and one of the medical problems he encountered was pneumonia. He will be in the hospital for the next four or five days until he is able to return to his home in Maine to complete his recovery. Because he was bed-ridden for such an extended period of time, he is having to regain the ability to walk, but is making good progress.

Harry has asked that we thank all of his friends, fellow DCW staff members and fans who may know him as one of the photographers on the sidelines at shows. He has received many cards, letters, phone calls and e-mails wishing him a speedy recuperation. The encouragement and prayers mean a great deal to him and his family. His wife, Bonnie, and one of his daughters, Katie, have been with him since Tuesday, August 14, at the hospital.

To those who might still want to send good wishes, he is currently at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals, Sienna Campus, 3001 St. Rose Parkway, Henderson, NV 89052. You can also send notes to him at 75 Windy Street, Augusta, ME 04430 that he’ll be able to see when he returns home.
