In The News: Defenders Of A Tradition

The rain was pouring and lightning flickered across the sky on Sunday, July 27 but it was no match for the Holy Family Defenders, who battled the storm to play their bugles at Rockland’s Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Defenders bugle and drum corps has a long tradition, which dates back to 1958. The group, then consisting of musicians between the ages of 18 and 22, toured the United States, testing their brass against other bands.
